When given the chance to do a motherhood connection session with this gorgeous little lady and her mama I jumped at the opportunity and drove all the way to Thibodaux. I mean, can you blame me? She IS pretty easy on the eyes. Little Harper Grace is a ray of sunshine. Her smile lights up a room and her laugh is pretty much the best sound in the whole world.

One thing that her mama asked me to document is the little birthmark you can see on Harper’s back. “We call it her paw paw kiss”, she said. Meant to be from her father, Harper’s grandfather, who had already earned his angel wings. Birthmark’s don’t always stay forever, and for that reason she wanted to make sure we documented it just as it was.

A little window light and an incredible connection (and the cutest baby ever) was all I needed to make some magic.

This last image speaks to my soul. I would give anything to have a photo like this with my babies. It’s one of those “I wish I knew then what I know now” things. To all the mama’s out there who are afraid to get in front of the camera. You are enough. You are beautiful just the way you are. The chaos and imperfection is not only worth remembering, it’s important. You are important. The bond you have with your babies is the most special thing in this life.
