If you’re feeling a little lost or a bit unsure of yourself or of where you’re going at any point during your photography journey, know that you are not alone! We’ve all been there. And the truth is, there is no “destination” to this journey. You won’t ever “arrive” at this magical place where you’ll eventually know everything you want to know. The world and everything in it is constantly evolving. Technology, trends, and even yourself. YOU are in a constant state of growth, and that, my friend, is a beautiful thing.

Sometimes though, we get stuck, we get blocked, and we get in our own way. Feelings of inadequacy and overwhelm stomp all over our artistic hopes and dreams, and we feel like giving up. Again, I’ve been there. And thanks to where I’ve been, I am able to help others get to where they want to be. I’ve always been a big fan of the “community over competition” mindset. After all, it is based on a fundamental truth of the universe. Nothing is ever lost in helping a fellow human achieve their dreams, and there is enough of all that we desire to go around.

Session Shadowing

If you’re a hands on learner craving some real-life experience, session shadowing might be the perfect choice for you. Together we will photograph a session type of your choosing. We will go over location decisions, lighting scenarios, composition, and camera settings during a laid back, interactive and stress free photo session and afterwards we will go grab a bite to eat so I can answer any questions you may have. These sessions provide the perfect opportunity for you to grow as an artist while scoring some kick-ass images to use in your portfolio!

Editing Intensive

The question has been posed many a time to many a successful photographer, “When did things really click for you in your business?”, and the overwhelming response to this question is “When I discovered my voice as an artist.” While your subject matter and style of shooting make up a big part of that voice, your editing style and consistency make up the rest. This is what makes your work recognizable as yours and gives your images much of their mood and character.

Perhaps you struggle with skin tones, or backlit images, or indoor lighting…and are finding it impossible to keep your work looking consistent. An editing intensive mentor session can help. During these sessions we will talk about your vision. What you’d like your work to communicate to others, and dive into what your preferences and shooting style are. Then we’ll work together on your own images to develop an editing style that fits your brand. I’ll also share with you some of my favorite Lightroom tricks and editing techniques that I use in my own work.
