I was excited to work with Dustin and Emily from the moment I received their inquiry and learned that they live in Kansas City and wanted me to take their family photos while they were vacationing in Pensacola Beach. I was born and raised in Missouri, and I will always have a special spot in my heart for that place. Plus, I may have Facebook stalked them and discovered how absolutely precious their daughter Elliot is! I also absolutely adore the whole “small world” thing. I was even more thrilled when I learned that Emily was expecting with their second child.
Sweet Elliot is listening to her baby brother! I think she even decided to tickle him at one point. Such a daddy’s girl. I just know this isn’t the last time I will have this family in front of my camera, and I’m looking forward to seeing if baby Fletcher turns out to be a mama’s boy!
I always say that it’s super important to get some shots of mom and dad together without the kiddos…and you can see why! I mean…come on. It doesn’t get much better than this.
One of my favorite things that happened during my time with this family was when Elliot decided that “Pants at the beach are totally overrated”. So the rest of the session was “sans pants” and that’s alright with me!
My favorites from the session are the ones of Emily and Dustin snuggled up together just watching Elliot play. Because I know just what they are thinking. They’re watching Elliot running in the sand, and they just KNOW, that even though it doesn’t feel like life can get any better than this, it’s about to do just that.
