Last year, big changes were made. I moved from Florida to Louisiana, and transitioned from being a full time wedding photographer to taking on a very limited number of weddings and becoming a full time family photographer.

I didn’t always love photographing families. In fact, they used to be my least favorite thing to photograph! There has been a lot of learning and growth on my part. What I realized through all of it was that I didn’t hate photographing families, I hated the WAY I photographed families. It felt too forced. Too contrived. There was a little too much posing and not enough play.

I still usually start off with getting one “smile at the camera” shot. BUT, once we get that out of the way, the rest of the session is all about CONNECTION and AUTHENTICITY.

My goal ( and what makes my heart sing) is to document your family in an authentic way. To communicate your children’s personalities in the images I take. To capture the bond that you share with the people you love, and to tell your unique story. I want people to look back and remember they way they felt in a moment in time.
